The Natural Supports Framework Training Series
This three-part series of trainings is specifically tailored for professionals working with individual clients and families.
The Natural Supports Framework provides the tools for engaging a network of family, community, and peer relationships in the care of your clients. Research suggests that practitioners understand the importance of natural supports but may not effectively engage them without tools and supports. This three-part series (January 14, February 11, and March 25 9AM to 12PM) of trainings is specifically tailored for professionals working with individual clients and families.
After the first training session, participants will engage in several weeks of practising a natural supports approach prior to subsequent training sessions.
Part One: An Introduction to the Natural Supports Framework
January 14, 2027 9AM – 12PM MST
In this interactive training, participants will be introduced to the guiding principles of the Natural Supports Framework and discuss how this approach can challenge established norms of client care. This training will outline how to integrate the Natural Supports Framework into your practice.
Part Two: Implementing the Natural Supports Framework into Practice
February 11, 2027 9AM – 12PM MST
This participant-driven training provides an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the implementation the Natural Supports Framework into their professional practice. This training will help participants to manage challenges and assumptions encountered in applying the Natural Supports Framework in their practice. Participants will leave the training with a plan for the continued implementation of the Natural Supports Framework into their professional work with clients and families.
Part Three: Application of the Natural Supports Framework
March 25, 2027 9AM – 12PM MST
In this interactive training, participants will explore the successes and challenges of implementing the Natural Supports Framework. We will build on the learning to create depth of understanding and expand capacity to utilize the frameworks foundational constructs and principles to identify opportunities to address status quo thinking and system barriers working with clients and their natural supports.
