In 2020, the ECN developed an evaluation capacity-building training targeted for AMP and its partnership, called E-Eval. With a collaborative and flexible approach to teaching about program evaluation and how to develop an evaluation plan, AMP saw the benefit this training could provide when tackling a new mentoring program for youth and young adults transitioning from care. As a result, E-Eval was adapted and facilitated to three mentoring agencies across Alberta. Through their preliminary participation in evaluation trainings organized by the Evaluation Capacity Network (ECN), AMP was able to recognize their need for further and more targeted support in fostering and developing the individual and organizational evaluation capacities within AMP and Alberta’s mentoring sector. Evaluation has played a crucial role in supporting AMP’s growth and efforts in uplifting the mentoring profile in Alberta since its inception.
