AMP Existing Mentor Training

Supporting volunteers to effectively mentor young people begins with initial and ongoing training. AMP's Existing Mentor Training provides mentors with a foundational understanding of mentoring before they are matched. It is designed to be supplemented with ongoing, program-specific training and support.

Please note: The AMP Existing Mentor Training will be available until November 2026. After that, it will be replaced by Foundations of Mentoring, Canada's national introductory mentor training.

  • Orientation for volunteer mentors (youth and adults)
  • Free to access
  • Five self-paced online modules
  • Approximately one hour to complete
  • Progress can be saved and completed later
  • Certificate available upon completion
  • Intended as an orientation to be supplemented with ongoing training
  • Teachers with an admin account can review participant completion
  • Can be used with CTS Course – HSS 1050 (Introduction to Mentorship)
