About

Synergy Youth and Community Development Society provides empowering and engaging leadership opportunities through community based programs for youth 7-17+ years of age. Weekly youth groups, creative arts programs, camps, retreats, and social activism provide an opportunity for youth to cultivate their leadership potential.
Personal empowerment and community engagement is reinforced through healthy relationship development, a fostered sense of belonging, and supported exploration of individual passions.

Synergy provides a catalyst for community leadership development by offering resource tools, relevant information and training opportunities to local groups and organizations.
Efficiencies are discovered and sustained through supportive relationships with our neighbours and community partners as we collaborate on a variety of awesome projects and initiatives.

Program Description

CHILD SAFE, Ages 8 – 16 : Everything from Babysitter training to Home Alone and Internet Safety!

SHOUT, Ages 10 – 14: A positive opportunity for youth to grow and connect in meaningful ways with their peers, their community, caring adults, and mentors! The focus is on cultivating future leaders. SHOUT meets throughout the school year to engage in team building activities, community projects, discussions on important social issues, and to have fun together!

YELL, Ages 13 +: Empowering youth to become conscientious members of their community through volunteerism, special group projects and self-exploration. The program can also offer an important social experience for those who are looking for a place to belong. Our youth welcome new members and guests all the time, no matter what! Diversity and individuality is encouraged. YELL meets regularly to develop their strengths and are supported by caring adult mentors and their expanding network of community leaders.

YOUTH INTERNSHIP, Ages 15 - 21: An excellent way for youth in our community to start developing their job skills and building a meaningful resume. Participants also get a firsthand look inside the not-for-profit, community development, and youth work fields.
