About the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta

CPAA was founded in 1976 by a group of highly committed parents with children with cerebral palsy. Over the years, the organization has grown from servicing a dozen members to over 1700 province wide.

At CPAA, we are creating a Life without Limits for individuals with disabilities and their families by providing programs and services, advocacy and education through out the province of Alberta.

CPAA serves people of all abilities through:

Individual and family support programs;
Information and referral services;
Employment training;
Sport, social and recreation programs;
Community and government relations;
Educational and awareness activities.

Program Description

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta offers a variety of programs for individuals with varying disabilities.  Within the programs and services of our organization lays an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to be volunteers. Opportunities available include administration and reception coverage, and in office support including shredding and watering plants. Volunteers also assist with our programs which include music therapy, horticulture, art fundamentals, adult groups, and support in the warehouse.  Other areas in which we require assistance is with special events in the community such as the 2013 Life without Limits Challenge and Shaw Charity Classic golf tournament.

Volunteers are not just solely helping with volunteer tasks they are a positive representation of the organization in the office and in the community.
