About

Canada Confesses is a social justice initiative focused on unravelling the myth that Canada is free from racism and social inequities. It aims to shed light on the deep-rooted systemic injustices within the country, challenging the misconception that these issues do not exist within Canadian borders. Canada Confesses creates a platform where marginalized and historically oppressed populations can safely share their experiences, amplifying their voices to raise public awareness.

Program Description

Canada Confesses offers youth-focused programs that use storytelling, education, and community dialogue to address racism, digital safety, and wellbeing. Our initiatives include trauma-informed grounding sessions, anti-racism workshops, youth leadership activities, and digital safety learning spaces developed with community partners. These programs help young people build confidence, develop advocacy skills, and explore issues affecting their daily lives.

We also host community events such as panel discussions, youth policy forums, restoration circles, and storytelling conversations through the Confessions on Native Land project. In addition, we support youth through multimedia storytelling, educational resources, and volunteer mentorship, including publishing guides like the A-Z Activism Vocabulary Guide, maintaining a digital resource database, and providing leadership development opportunities for volunteers.
