About
Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network (CFAN) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to reducing the incidence of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and supporting individuals and families affected by it. CFAN serves Calgary and surrounding regions by coordinating services in three key areas: prevention, assessment and diagnosis, and direct supports for individuals with FASD and their caregivers. Each year, CFAN provides comprehensive support to over 1,000 Albertans and educates hundreds of professionals across sectors through evidence-based training and awareness initiatives. By bringing together families, community partners, and service agencies, CFAN works to eliminate systemic barriers and foster a community where no family faces FASD alone and individuals can thrive.

Program Description
Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network (CFAN) is a collaborative, community-based organization serving Calgary and surrounding areas. CFAN works to prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by FASD through coordinated services, education, and advocacy. CFAN supports a wide range of populations including children, youth, adults, caregivers, and service providers, with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
CFAN leads ConnectFASD, a province-wide initiative that provides centralized access to FASD-related services and supports. ConnectFASD includes a 24-hour helpline (1-866-601-FASD), live chat, and online resources to assist individuals, families, and professionals. The program offers navigation support across key areas such as early intervention, mental health, housing, justice, Indigenous supports, and caregiver services. ConnectFASD ensures that individuals impacted by FASD—regardless of age or location—can access timely, coordinated, and compassionate support.
