Caroline Family Centre Mentorship Program
We are a voluntary not-for-profit group of parents supporting parents supporting families. We came about in 2010 with the help of a start-up grant from FCSS (Family and Community Support Services). Our programs are for families of school-age children. Families come in all shapes and sizes including two parent families, step and blended families, single parent families, grandparents, and foster families. We serve the village of Caroline, Alberta and surrounding area. Our families may have children in public school, Catholic school, or home school.
We hold monthly events such as Family Fun Nights, Craft Nights, Game Nights, and Family Gym Nights. We also have parenting related presentations such as Kids & Drugs, SAFETALK, film nights (e.g. Adolescence and Other Mental Disorders). We bring speakers and programs in such as McMann Youth Services and their Triple P Parenting series for 0-12 years and Triple P Parenting series for Teens. We also have a small lending library of DVDs and books related to parenting and activities for kids.
All of our programs are free. We do accept donations from businesses and individuals who would like to help the centre run its programs.
