About

The Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) Society of Alberta is a non-profit charitable organization working in Alberta since 1995 to strengthen community capacity and build healthier and stronger communities. The AHC’s objective is to improve the lives of individuals and communities in which they live through provision of public education and other capacity building initiatives to enable them to enhance their own lives.
AHC Alberta serves and build community connections in Edmonton, Leduc, Beaumont, Camrose, Cold Lake and Bonnyville with:

  •  Newcomers to Alberta and Canada, including immigrants, refugees, permanent residents and others
  • Ethno-cultural groups and organizations
  • Individuals and families from a wide range of socioeconomic, cultural or linguistic backgrounds

Program Description

AHC Alberta Children and Youth programs offer wide range of skills development and community connection activities through the partnership with various stakeholders including schools, libraries, ethnic groups, community leagues and other service organizations.
AHC Alberta focus on developing youth resilience and supporting them to reach their full potential through the following program streams.

  • Career exploration and job skills development
  • Leadership development and community engagement
  • Academic enrichment and Education plan
