Program Description

Relationship and Sexual Health Education
We have been delivering the Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) program in schools since 1975. RSE follows best practices guidelines and established frameworks for sexual health, relationship, and violence prevention education and is linked to the Alberta Learning Curriculum outcomes. We offer youth the opportunity to build their knowledge, skills, and motivation to make informed, healthy choices about their bodies, relationships, and sexuality. This program is offered in partnership with schools and community-based organizations that work with youth aged 12-29.

WiseGuyz
The WiseGuyz program helps boys and young men find positive, inclusive ways of being a guy today. The program has been researched extensively and been shown to improve friendship quality, increase ability to manage negative emotions and reduce dating/intimate partner violence.

WiseGuyz rolled out to school environments in the Calgary area in 2010. Since 2018, we have been rolling the program out to schools and community sites across the country. For more information, see WiseGuyz Across Canada.

Girls Program
Girls Program is offered in schools in grades 4-6. Over 25 sessions, this program explores topics including mental health, friendships/relationships, self-esteem, body image, media literacy and puberty.

Camp fYrefly
Camp fYrefly is a leadership retreat for Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ youth. The camp provides a space for youth to explore their identity, build resilience and enhance self-esteem, all while having an incredible camp experience.
Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Network
We’re proud to support a growing network of students, schools and community organizations that strive to create safer spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ students and staff.

The network provides consultation, training, event funding, school visits, networking and more to people involved in a GSA, or those who want to start one.

Natural Supports
Our Professional Counselling program uses a Natural Supports approach to support youth who identify as Two Spirit & LGBTQ+. We’ll meet with youth (12-24) to discuss issues like identity, questioning identity, sexual orientation and coming out. We’re also available to meet with the young person’s “natural supports” – family members or other supportive individuals – to help support the young person in their life.

From Me to We
From Me to We creates a safe and welcoming space for transgender, Two-Spirit, non-binary and gender non-conforming youth to explore their identities; experience a sense of belonging and acceptance; and build skills and confidence to navigate healthy relationships with themselves, others, and their communities.
