About

Between Friends is a charitable organization that creates opportunities for people with disabilities to connect, grow, and belong through quality social and recreational activities.

Many people with disabilities seek social and recreational activities that are fundamental to enriching self-esteem, quality of life, and mental and physical health. Between Friends facilitates programs with these goals in mind while promoting a focus on shared interests over individual differences.

Program Description

We offer approximately 150 core weekend and evening programs throughout the year on a seasonal basis: winter, spring, summer, and fall for all age groups.  We also offer Camp Bonaventure (summer day camp) for ages 4-17, Camp Fun'zAmust (weeklong overnight camp) for ages 7-16 and 17-24, I.C.A.N! programs (integration programs with partner facilities) and Adventurers for ages 18+ (adult summer day and vacation programs).  We have launched a new partnership with the Genesis Centre within 1000 Voices to provide programming for the NE quadrant of Calgary.  All of our programs are heavily subsidized by our donors to ensure that they are accessible and affordable to everyone.
