Boys and Girls Club of Edson and District
The Boys and Girls Club is in its 30th year of serving children and their families in Edson and District. The club continues to offer low cost, quality programming for children and youth aged 5-12. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
The main program at the Boys and Girls Club is the After School Program, which operates from 3-6pm Monday to Thursday and 2:15-6pm on Friday. During this program we provide a Safewalk program and continue to have a successful partnership with Grande Yellowhead Public School Division which ensures safe access from all elementary schools to the Club each day by utilizing unused bussing seats for club members, as well as, providing up-to-date computers and software for our computer room.
Starting in September 2014, the Club is offering a Boys and Girls on the Move recreation program running from 6pm-8pm one night a week. The program is free for members and $20 drop in rate for non-members. This program is to add to the current recreation program with extended hours to offer more support to families and a chance for children to be more active through recreational activities.
We continue to run our Full Day Camps on non-school days and our Summer Programs during the months of July and August from 8:30 to 6pm Monday to Friday
