Celebrating Mentoring Through Big Brothers Big Sisters Month in Canada

Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada are launching a national celebration of Mentoring this September to celebrate Big Brothers Big Sisters Month. Their campaign content celebrates the impact of mentoring, is emotionally powerful and easily sharable — Check it out here. The campaign will be a month-long celebration of Mentoring, marked by key anniversaries such as “Big Brothers Big Sisters Day” September 18th (join their thunderclap here — a social media tool that coordinates one large social media push)

Even if you are not a Big Brothers Big Sisters Agency, you will benefit from their campaign. When more people search for mentoring opportunities or get interested in mentoring, that helps your agency succeed! For example if you live in a community without a BBBS program, this campaign might drive traffic to your door, so be prepared for heightened interest! We know that September and January are the two best volunteer intake seasons!

Are you doing a promotional campaign for your organization or program?

Let us know— we want to co-promote it, celebrate your success, and inspire other mentoring professionals. We know that working together is the best way to bolster our collective impact and ensure that all youth who need a mentor have access to a mentor. We want to feature you, your work, and your volunteers!

We know that “a rising tide lifts all ships” and that when one mentoring program succeeds, the importance of mentoring is elevated throughout the whole province. That’s why we formed the Alberta Mentoring Partnership and that’s why we have co-hosted two National Mentoring Symposiums in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada.

Whether you are looking for $1 or 1 new mentor, we want to support you, co-brand with you, and scale up your services through high quality professional development and resources. Let us all inspire one another this year.

January is #MENTORMONTH — 4 short months away.

Just like last year, Across Alberta AMP will be leading a celebration of mentoring all month long. It will include weekly themes, resources, partner profiles, recruitment ads, mentor referrals, and much much more. With your help, we will recruit and retain a record number of mentors across Alberta.

Congratulations to BBBS Canada and the 9 Alberta Big Brothers’ Big Sisters agencies on the fine work they do in support of youth.
