Status of Women Grant Program

The Alberta Government has recently opened a grant application for Non-profits and charitable organizations can get funding for projects that improve the lives of women and girls in Alberta. These grants create opportunities for community groups to pilot an innovative idea or expand successful projects to help Alberta women reach their full potential.
Here at the Alberta Mentoring Partnership we have many partners that serve girls throughout Alberta and see this as a prime opportunity for our partners and other women and girl serving organizations to take advantage of this Grant Program. If you have a program or are wanting to start a girls mentoring program, then we also suggest you check out our Mentoring Girls Toolkit – which includes resources and support to help schools and mentoring organizations create, implement, deliver and evaluate a quality group mentoring program for girls ages 9-13. These tools can be adapted to the unique values, needs, strengths and challenges of each community. Please visit the Girls Group Mentoring Toolkit here: mentoringgirls.ca.
Eligible organizations for the Status of Women Grant Program include registered charities, registered not-for-profits and community-based coalitions and networks.

“When women succeed, whole communities and economies succeed. That’s why we are investing in ideas that support Alberta women.” – Stephanie McLean, Minister of Status of Women

“Grants like this enable us to increase the reach of our programs and scale our impact in the community, helping women build confidence using technology and profiling more women as leaders, role-models and mentors in this space.” – Kylie Toh, Founder of Chic Geek, organizer at Geeky Summit

“We believe our communities are strongest when women are full participants in entrepreneurship. We are excited to see this support for organizations that engage and support women in our province.” – Marcela Mandeville, CEO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs
